DIYers taking on bigger projects?

gitirdun of Alert Data Inc - http://www.rtacabinetmall.com/ With the influx of cheaper Chinese construction materials (like rta cabinets and prefab granite countertops) along with the depressed economy and the dismal real estate markets, there has been a tendancy for homeowners to take on larger and more complex home improvement projects. Although prudence and building codes require licensed professionals to handle major items like plumbing, electrical and structural changes, I've found that many homeowners are more willing to take on larger and more complicated projects like complete a kitchen remodel. Is it just a sign of the times? Economy, Google/internet how-to articles, social media?
