Remodeling a small kitchen can be difficult. You may worry that you won’t have enough space for all your dishes, utensils, storage and foods, or that there won’t be enough room to function efficiently but, have no fear, We have a few tips to help with your big ideas for small kitchens.
Tip One:
Measure the length and height of the area you plan to install new cabinets. This will give you a better idea of which size, and how many, wall and base cabinets will work best in your space. This is important because it allows you determine exactly how much storage room you can have, which will help in the process of choosing how many shelves, drawers and counter space you’ll need.
Tip Two:
If you desire copious storage space for foods, dishes, pots, pans, utensils and anything else you wish to store in your new Kitchen Cabinets, you need to select our cabinets that have multiple shelves, drawers and dividers. Installing bridge cabinets over appliances such as your oven, refrigerator or kitchen sink will give you the extra space you’re looking for to store spices, lighters and even grilling utensils. These cabinets not only maximize your storage space, they also give your kitchen more organizational features.
Tip Three:
Since your kitchen has a limited space you may not be able to install any island cabinetry. You might think that this will limit your storage space, but in reality not installing an island in a small kitchen will maximize your space, allowing you to cook more efficiently and much less cramped. This also leaves you with more money to invest in the design of your wall, base and bridge cabinets.

Kitchen Island Cabinets: Useful Designs

Found this really cool kitchen island posted by one of my pinterest buddies. I like the multiple drawers and the indented pedestal that gives the floating effect but what I really appreciate is the simplistic size and shape.

Too often I see huge, elaborate island configurations crammed into a small kitchen. So ill fitting that the island actually looses some of it function....I have to wonder, what were the designers/owners thinking! I tell clients to consider that you must have a minimum of 36 inches clearance on all sides of your island so even a small 2 foot x 4 foot will require a 8x10 footprint. If you need help with Kitchen Island ideas ... give us a shout! by Granger Davis
